So i am torn between sharing the abridged version and sharing the very detailed version. I'm guessing most of you want to know as much as possible about me (i hope my guess is right...hahahaha) so here goes.
On second thought, that would be an autobiography and a very LONG THING! I also find that readers prefer bite size info in today's world of information overload so i'll share some bits and pieces of my life's journey and would rely on you to let me know which part of my story you want to know more about which will form my next post.
Sounds like a plan?
37 years ago, I was born into a family of 7 on August 28. Growing up, i was eager to be liked by everyone, i guess this came from a place of wanting to always be the centre of attention and so i did everything i was told by whoever was the authority at any given time....parents, teachers, you name it.
So while i was struggling hard to be everyone's favourite or that model child, i grappled with the self-inflicted pressure of being a people pleaser...and so in my teens, i budged and swung to the far left; i became a rebel (relative to where i was coming from). I wanted to go against every convention or sense of conformity. Thinking back about some of my escapades makes me cringe but i think this was a necessary step to exploring and finding myself.
As a young lady, i found love (or so i thought) and learnt many hard relationship lessons. Though born into a strong Catholic, i started to intentionally cultivate a personal relationship with God after i graduated from the University and soon after, i found and married the love of my life.
Today, i'm blessed with 3 beautiful children - 9 years, 7 years and 8 months - all with personalities as different as their pregnancies. I would love to share more about my pregnancy journeys especially the last which is the most vivid and my first which was the most traumatic.
Last year (2021), i embarked on what i refer to as the craziest and bravest decision i have ever made: moving countries pregnant with 2 kids under the age of 10. I'm risk averse and not very adventurous so this was WILD! Getting up and not just leaving familiar territory to the unknown but also leaving a high flying job to focusing on being a MUM. Did i bite more than i could chew?
I can't wait to share it all, from being slapped left, right, center with taxes to having to pay monthly car insurance premium that's even more expensive than the cost of the monthly down payment to buy a car to the bureaucratic health care system to my kids' bullying experiences....so much to share.
Being a professional defines me and while i love my children to death, i felt like a fish out of water for the longest time while waiting for my baby to get old enough to jump back into the corporate world. Despite my very crazy schedule and wearing multiple hats, i'm back in the corporate world powering greatness. Watch this space!
So which one of my life stories would you love me to share next?
1) Growing Up ( 0 to 100 - Model child to Rebel)
2) Adolescence and Relationship Mistakes (Note to my 18 year old self)
3) Finding Faith in God
4) Finding and Keeping Love (Love is Decision not a Feeling)
5) My Career Journey
6) Motherhood - the Joyful Struggles
7) Relocating to Canada - The Journey so far
So please mention a number that corresponds with what you would like to read about next in the comment section below and i'll go with the option with the highest votes.
